LUNAR Remastered Collection is among us and it will not be just for PlayStation 5!
GungHo made its appearance on State of Play showing a little bit of the remaster of two old, but very exciting games. The collection will have the titles Lunar: Silver Star Story and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue. All of them will be arriving in the fall of 2025, with no specific release date for the game.
Trailer:
Lunar is a series of RPGs from the old Game Arts, which was also responsible for the Grandia franchise. The first game in the franchise was released in Japan in 1992 on the Sega CD. Several versions were released for both main games throughout the 1990s.
In the first game, we follow Alex, a young boy who dreams of great adventures like those of the great Dragonmaster Dyne. Along with his friends, he embarks on a journey in search of treasure and glory, but ends up having to save the world from a great threat.
The second title takes place 1000 years later, showing the adventures of Hiro after meeting a mysterious person from the "Blue Star". Just like in the first game, the story starts off light-hearted, but the characters will soon have to face great challenges that threaten to destroy the world.
An upscaling of images, graphical, sound, and gameplay improvements are expected. You will also have the possibility to play with the old or original graphics. It should also bring support for widescreen, improved pixel art, and HD cutscenes, which could greatly change the experience for those who played the game before.
Mainly because it has a tool to speed up battles, and new ways of advanced strategies, improving the combat system.
The game is set to be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, via Steam!
