Lost Soul Aside delayed until August: check out the new trailer, date and Sony's justification

With almost 10 years of development, Lost Soul Aside has suffered another delay: now, the title will be released on August 29, 2025 for PlayStation 5 and PC, according to a joint confirmation from Ultizero Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. The new date is already featured in the latest promotional trailer for the game, which also marks the official opening of pre-orders.

The action RPG was originally scheduled for May 30, 2025, but the decision to postpone came from Sony itself, which requested more time to ensure that the game meets quality expectations.

“We sincerely appreciate the continued support and enthusiasm of everyone. This additional time will allow the team to further refine the game and deliver the experience we want to share with players,”

With mechanics inspired by Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy XV, Lost Soul Aside was first revealed as a solo project in 2016, the result of independent developer Yang Bing's work, before being integrated into the China Hero Project program, by Sony. The game caught attention for its cinematic visuals and fast-paced combat, blending hack and slash and RPG elements in a stylized sci-fi universe.

Although there is no confirmation of support for dubbing in multiple languages yet, it is known that the game will have subtitles in English, Japanese, and Chinese, as well as full support for 60 FPS and 4K resolution on the PS5.

The current delay is another among several schedule adjustments within the China Hero Project, which has also seen changes with titles like Convallaria. Nevertheless, expectations remain high: Lost Soul Aside is one of the most ambitious projects ever created within the ecosystem of Chinese game incentives by Sony.
