Last Epoch Announces New Publisher, Krafton, and Prepares Expansion
Eleventh Hour Games (EHG), developer of the acclaimed ARPG Last Epoch, announced that it will join forces with Krafton, publisher of titles like PUBG and Inzoi. This strategic partnership aims to boost the studio's growth, which plans to hire for several new roles soon. While Season 3 of Last Epoch is already confirmed for August, this collaboration suggests an even more ambitious future for the game.
From Indie Success to Global Scale
Judd Cobler, CEO of EHG, shared the exciting news on the game's forum. He recalled EHG's journey, which started as a group of Reddit users with the ambition to create the "next big ARPG." Seven years later, after a period of Early Access, Last Epoch was launched in its 1.0 version, achieving success and rivaling big names in the genre like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2.
Last Epoch stands out for the deep identity of its five classes and fifteen subclasses, offering unique gaming experiences. The item design system and crafting tools are accessible yet deep enough to keep players engaged. The game is also praised for its loot filter and storage system, offering vast space and organization, considered one of the best in the category.
Cobler emphasized that, despite the success, EHG's mission is far from over. To deliver the "best ARPG experience available," the studio needs aggressive growth. After a year of evaluation, Krafton was identified as the ideal partner to "empower our studio and help us complete our mission."
Future Plans and Commitment to the Community
The partnership with Krafton, a South Korean studio known for PUBG and the sims-like Inzoi, will allow Eleventh Hour Games to hire for several new roles. Interested individuals are encouraged to follow the studio's careers page.
Regarding content roadmap, Cobler assured that the release of Season 3 of Last Epoch, "Beneath Ancient Skies", is set for Thursday, August 21st. Season 4 is expected to arrive approximately four months later. While not disclosing more details, Cobler reiterated that EHG "will continue to be what it has always been - the studio of ARPG enthusiasts that emerged from the community with one goal in mind: to make the ARPG we always dreamed of playing."
With the new investment and team expansion, do you believe that Eleventh Hour Games will be able to boost Last Epoch to become a leader in the ARPG genre, surpassing its direct competitors like Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2?
