To Koei Tecmo, known for franchises like Ninja Gaiden, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Atelier Yumia and the recent Rise of the Ronin, closed the fiscal year of 2024 (April 2024 to March 2025) with record profits and revenues, even with a slight retraction in total sales. According to Automaton Media, the results were driven by increased digital sales, cost reduction in games as a service and strong returns from external investments.

The company recorded a net profit exceeding €19 million compared to the previous year. One of the most relevant factors was the growth in sales of titles developed and published internally. The strategy of focusing on own IPs and digital sales allowed gains even with a lower volume of units sold.

"Games released in the first quarter of 2025 had a special positive impact on their finances."

“Despite a slight decline in overall sales, Koei Tecmo reported a profit increase exceeding €19 million.”

At the same time, investments outside the gaming area also played a prominent role, generating around €109 million in additional revenue. These financial movements helped offset market fluctuations and strengthened the position of the Japanese publisher.

For the new fiscal cycle, starting on April 1, 2025 and ending on March 31, 2026, Koei Tecmo projects a decline in profits, as financial investments are being directed towards developing new games and positioning themselves better with the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for June.

The performance reinforces the company's current strategy: diversifying sources of revenue, betting on strong IPs, and preparing the ground for the new generation of consoles. Even in the face of an expected decline, the scenario remains positive, considering the investments already underway.
