Kaiju N.8 The Game reveals trailer with turn-based combat and arrives for free on mobile and PC
With another trailer revealed this week, Kaiju N.8 The Game begins to take shape as a promising adaptation of the popular action and science fiction manga. The new video, released by Akatsuki Games, shows unseen gameplay footage and confirms that the title will be a free RPG with turn-based battles, available for iOS, Android, and PC.
Previously announced as part of the expansion of the Kaiju No. 8 universe, the game seeks to capture the tension of battles between humans and giant monsters with a proposal that combines tactical combat, faithful setting, and an engaging narrative system. The battle mechanics will be turn-based, focusing on strategy and real-time decisions, according to the developers themselves.
"The system was designed to offer depth and excitement, reflecting the intense confrontations of the original manga," said Akatsuki Games in an official statement.
The trailer highlights the use of the main characters from the work, facing kaiju threats in urban and military scenarios. Visually, the game relies on a cel-shaded aesthetic that directly references the series' style, ensuring greater fidelity to the visual identity of the manga originally published by Shonen Jump+ and with a recent animated adaptation by the studio Production I.G.
Kaiju N.8 The Game will not have an initial cost and will follow the free-to-play model, with microtransactions that have not yet been detailed. The expectation is that the game will be released in 2025, with pre-registration opening in the coming months on digital stores.
The proposal of Akatsuki Games joins other recent adaptations of manga for mobile games, such as Black Clover M and Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade, reinforcing the trend of richer narrative experiences in the free games market.
Fans of the Kaiju No. 8 universe should stay tuned, as new details about playable characters, story modes, and in-game events are expected to be revealed soon on the project's official channels.
