It Takes Two 2 can happen!
Josef Fares does not rule out a sequel to the award-winning cooperative game
Even with Split Fiction about to be released, the iconic It Takes Two is still fresh in the memory of gamers - and, apparently, a sequel is not out of the question.
The award-winning cooperative game from Hazelight Studios, released in 2021, was a true phenomenon, selling millions of copies and winning Game of the Year awards. And according to the creator of the title, Josef Fares, there is always the possibility of revisiting that universe in the future.
Is a sequel in the plans?
In an interview with MinnMax, Fares was asked which of his games he would choose for a sequel. Without hesitation, he pointed to It Takes Two and left the door open for a possible return.
"Who knows, man? You never know the future at Hazelight."
The exact moment of this statement can be seen in the interview video, around 13 minutes and 11 seconds.
The impact of It Takes Two
The cooperative game stood out for its creative design, varied gameplay, and engaging narrative. Among its main differentials are:
- Fully cooperative gameplay, with no option to play alone
- Innovative and constantly renewed mechanics throughout the campaign
- Emotional and captivating story, addressing themes of relationship and family
- Commercial and critical success, with millions of copies sold and awards, including Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021
