inZoi surprises with 1 million copies sold in one week and promises to become Krafton's new franchise

When it comes to life simulators, the first name that still comes to mind is The Sims. But, look... there's new competition in the field — and it's strong. Released on March 28, 2025 in early access, inZoi, the newest project from Krafton, not only arrived in style, but also broke internal company records, selling an impressive 1 million copies in just seven days.

This achievement positions inZoi as the game with the fastest-selling launch in Krafton's history — surpassing previous records set by titles like PUBG: Battlegrounds. And all of this still in Early Access. The expectation? Sky high. But is it delivering?

First impressions: engaged community and positive feedback

Despite being an early access title, inZoi has already won over the community. According to Steam data, by April 4, the game had 83% positive reviews, earning it the "Very Positive" seal on the platform.

Success wasn't limited to sales alone: on Twitch, the game was also a hit, reaching 175 thousand simultaneous viewers, ranking among the three most watched games of the day.

CH Kim, CEO of Krafton, commented:
"We are grateful and excited to introduce inZoi to players worldwide through early access. We will continue to actively engage with players and develop inZoi as a long-term franchise for Krafton."

What is inZoi, after all?

For those who haven't caught on to the game's proposal, inZoi is a realistic life simulator, where the player takes control of characters (the "Zois") in richly detailed urban scenarios. The proposal is quite clear: to offer creative freedom, customizable routines, and an interactive social ecosystem.

One of the most praised features is the Canvas feature, an internal platform for user-generated content sharing. On the launch day alone, more than 1.2 million players actively participated in the experience, with over 470 thousand pieces of content created and shared — including buildings, clothing, scenarios, and decorative objects.

Updates and promising future

Krafton doesn't want the hype to die down. The company has already confirmed a robust schedule of updates, including:

Official mod support;

New playable cities;

Gameplay expansions with more professions, social interactions, and events;

All updates and DLCs free until the full release.

For now, inZoi is available exclusively for PC via Steam, but a console version is already in development — which could further expand its player base and solidify the title as a long-lasting franchise.

Can inZoi be the new king?

It's still too early to tell if inZoi will be able to dethrone established simulators like The Sims, but the signs are promising. Krafton, famous for its success with PUBG, shows that it is willing to invest heavily in new genres — and more importantly, listen to the community from the start.

If you enjoy creating, simulating, customizing, and following digital lives with rich detail, inZoi might very well be your new addiction. And with this solid launch base, it's good to keep an eye out: the future of life simulation may be being written right now.
