InZoi loses 80% of players in one month and Krafton promises urgent changes
When InZoi was announced by Krafton, the expectations were high. Presented as a direct competitor to The Sims, but with superior graphics and ambitious simulation systems, the game caught attention even before its release in early access on March 27, 2025. However, what seemed like a guaranteed success turned into a major disappointment: InZoi lost over 80% of its players in less than a month.
In the early days, the scenario was promising — the game reached 87 thousand simultaneous players on Steam. However, the downward trend was quick. On April 2, InZoi no longer surpassed the mark of 30 thousand simultaneous players. On April 14, the number dropped to less than 10 thousand and, starting on April 23, the title struggled to maintain 5 thousand active players.
Faced with this collapse in interest, Krafton decided to act. In a recent statement, the company acknowledged the situation and promised to establish more frequent communication with the community. "We will no longer stay silent for so long or take so long to release news," said the developer.
Krafton's plans include:
- Regular communication to understand player feedback.
- Monthly publication of a focused list of issues to keep the community informed.
- Testing new features with selected players before general implementations.
- Faster updates to try to regain the pace and confidence of players.
According to the PCGamesN website, the strategy aims to win back the installed base and prevent the project from falling into oblivion — a common fate for simulation games that fail to maintain a constant cycle of novelties.
Despite the initial promise of offering a robust and differentiated experience within the life simulator genre, InZoi ran into classic problems: lack of relevant content, unresolved bugs, and lack of effective communication immediately after launch, errors that serve as a warning for future projects from Krafton.
The challenge now is to regain the community and prove that InZoi can still evolve and compete for space in the market dominated by names like The Sims 4, Paralives, and other rising projects.
