Hollow Mire: Shadow of Breken House confirmed at the Mundo Gamer Showcase 2026

The English studio Mowlo Games has confirmed its participation in the event with Hollow Mire - Shadow of Breken House, a new approach to psychological horror and mystery set in post-war England. The confirmation reinforces the international character of the Mundo Gamer Showcase 2026 lineup and adds to the schedule a dense narrative experience, marked by memory, trauma, and a reality that unravels.

Set in a devastated and snow-covered Britain, still haunted by the echoes of war, Hollow Mire presents an emotional story about loss, grief, and a mind oscillating between truth and delirium. The protagonist John Rowe, a World War II veteran turned journalist, returns to a ruined England as he searches for his missing family. A new investigation leads him to the remote Breken House, where buried memories — of war and his own home — emerge and distort the world around him.

Meanwhile, the narrative follows detective Gwen Porter, investigating the disappearance of a patient and the murder of a staff member at the archaic and brutal Bordon Down Asylum. As the cases progress, an unsettling connection begins to tie the two stories together, deepening the mystery behind Breken House.

According to the Mowlo Games development team, “Hollow Mire is inspired by a period when Britain was still recovering from the war, and families were learning to cope with the painful reality that many soldiers would never return home. This sense of persistent absence is at the heart of the story. Players can expect mature themes in some of the toughest moments in human history.”

Playable demo available on Steam now. The full release is planned for PC via Steam in late 2026.
