Hideo Kojima praises Predator: Badlands and defends Dan Trachtenberg

The legendary Hideo Kojima briefly interrupted his intense work on OD and Physint at Kojima Productions, as well as the adaptation of Death Stranding into a film and anime, to strongly praise the new Disney movie, Predator: Badlands. The Japanese creator, known for sharing his opinions on movies and series on social media, classified the new entry in the franchise as "excellent".

The Kojima went to the movies to see the film even after hurting his back, a fact that demonstrates the enthusiasm for the feature film.

The director took the opportunity to defend director Dan Trachtenberg's modern approach, anticipating the critical reaction from long-time fans of the series:

“I'm sure long-time fans will say ‘This is not Predator!’ I also love John McTiernan's Predator (1987), but director Dan Trachtenberg has already achieved a brilliant reimagining of the original style with Prey, successfully completing this mission,”


Kojima's praise for Predator: Badlands suggests that the film may follow the success path of Prey, which exceeded expectations and won over fans. Kojima also praised the new Apple TV series from the creator of Breaking Bad.
