Ghost of Yōtei reveals data, history and new enemies: check it out
The Sony and developer Sucker Punch confirmed yesterday, April 22, 2025, that Ghost of Yōtei will be released on PlayStation 5 on October 2, 2025. The sequel to Ghost of Tsukishima also received a new trailer, highlighting technical details and new elements of the new adventure.
The story takes place about 300 years after the events of Tsukishima, with a completely independent plot. This time, the protagonist will be Atsu, a new warrior driven by the desire for revenge, who sets out on a journey to eliminate those responsible for the death of her family.
Atsu's main targets are known as the six Yōtei, each with codenames in English: "The Snake", "The Oni", "The Kitsune", "The Spider", "The Dragon", and "Lord Saito". Armed with unique personalities and combat styles, these enemies will be faced individually throughout the campaign.
In addition to the main missions, the game will allow Atsu to participate in parallel challenges to fund her journey, while extensively exploring the lands of Ezo. During exploration, it will be possible to recruit allies who can make a difference in future battles.
Since the success of Ghost of Tsukishima, released in 2022, fans have been waiting for news about the sequel. Now, with the official announcement, Ghost of Yōtei promises to further expand the franchise's legacy with a renewed narrative, new mechanics, and an even more immersive world.
