The German Association of the Games Industry (game) celebrated the best games and talents of the industry last Thursday during the German Computer Games Award 2024 (DCP), presented in Munich. The event featured a selection of high-quality games, top-notch entertainment, and the presence of various personalities from the gaming industry, as well as cultural, social, and political representatives.

The ceremony, held at the Eisbach Studios in Munich and hosted by Katrin Bauerfeind and Uke Bosse, was broadcast live to hundreds of thousands of viewers. A total of 800,000 euros in cash prizes was distributed.

EVERSPACE 2, developed by ROCKFISH Games, was chosen as the 'Best German Game'. The 'Studio of the Year' award was presented to Pixel Maniacs from Nuremberg, recognized for successes such as the racing game "Can’t Drive This" and for its multifaceted commitment to the gaming industry, as well as its contribution to the development of young talents and innovations in marketing.

The award for 'Best International Game' went to Baldur’s Gate 3, while Maurice Weber was named 'Player of the Year' in a community and jury vote. Weber, a game editor and Twitch streamer, is known for his critical analysis of the industry and his advocacy for diversity and against extremism in games and society.

The event, which honors the best games produced in Germany, is organized by the German Federal Government, represented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, in partnership with game - the German Association of the Games Industry.

“Congratulations to all the winners of the German Computer Games Award 2024!”, says Felix Falk, Managing Director of game. “Even in challenging times for many German companies in the sector, they managed to create high-quality and successful games, deservedly recognized on the DCP stage. About half of these remarkable games were developed with support from federal funding for games. This once again demonstrates the potential we can achieve when the political environment for game development in Germany offers truly predictable and internationally competitive conditions - conditions that allow German games to shine even more worldwide and achieve even more success both nationally and internationally. We must make this our goal!”
