Genshin Impact 5.6 takes players back to Mondstadt with Albedo's trial and new characters

The version 5.6 of Genshin Impact, set to be released on May 7, 2025, promises an unexpected twist in the narrative universe of the RPG from HoYoverse. The new chapter of the Archon Quest - Interlude will take players back to Mondstadt, now the stage of the traditional Windblume Festival, which will be abruptly interrupted by a dramatic event: Albedo, the alchemist, will be publicly judged in front of the city.

The episode, which brings together familiar faces like Venti and the Knights of Favonius, also introduces new characters like Dahlia and the mysterious Mrs. Alice, suggesting an escalation of tensions that are reflected beyond the narrative. The crisis evolves into a magical confrontation involving an alliance with the enigmatic Society of Witches. The highlight is the new Weekly Boss Challenge, where players will face a strategic battle against the King and Queen on a magical chessboard - requiring tactical mastery and combat readiness.

"It's a mission with a strong dramatic charge and new gameplay dynamics that expand the scope of Mondstadt's plot," said HoYoverse in its official statement.

Meanwhile, in Fontaine, the parallel event Fantastic World Chevalmarin Films offers a more laid-back approach, putting the player in the position of managing a theme park. With the support of Navia and characters from Natlan, it will be necessary to manage attractions, train employees, and maximize profits to unlock the narrative arc "Rhythm of Solitude."

The update also marks the debut of two new playable characters:

• Escoffier (Cryo, 5 stars): specialized in healing and reducing enemy resistance.
• Ifa (Anemo, 4 stars): summons the Qucussauro, a creature capable of attacking, healing allies, and manipulating the field with winds.
   

In the first phase of the Prayers banner, the highlights are Escoffier, Navia, and Ifa. The second phase will bring Kinich and Shogun Raiden, in addition to a special return banner with 5-star characters from Inazuma.

With a renewed focus on narrative, new challenges, and content expansion, version 5.6 reinforces HoYoverse's commitment to keeping the Genshin universe constantly evolving. And with Mondstadt in the spotlight, surprises - and consequences - are sure to come.
