Games with a gothic theme, to venture into the shadows!

In the world of games, we have several types of games, bringing different themes and exploring them in different ways, making adventures more complicated and for some, much more interesting than it would be in any other super colorful and cute game.

With that in mind, I have prepared a list of some games that work within this theme, some draw from children's stories, taking them to another level, others create their own dark world and challenge the player until they adapt to that reality.

Today I want to bring games with gothic themes so you can make the most of your weekend, if you enjoy this theme! (If you don't like it, come back next week and at some point I will hit your heart...)

Castlevania: Dominus Collection

Working with great vampires from pop culture, the classic game has a perfect collection for you who want to play it nowadays. Below is the synopsis of the 3 games in the collection:

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

Not just one, but two heroes join forces to fight evil this time! Switch between Jonathan and Charlotte with a single button press and make the best use of their unique abilities.

Dracula's Castle has suddenly resurfaced, but something is not right.

Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin enter to investigate and soon discover that the mastermind behind it all is not who they thought...

Castlevania Order of Ecclesia

The enigmatic Shanoa is the only human capable of using glyphs, symbols full of magic.

Gather glyphs by exploring the Castle and its surroundings and absorb the power of the powerful enemies you will face! The three most powerful glyphs, believed to be capable of defeating Dracula himself, have been stolen. Will Shanoa be able to bring them back to the Order and finally destroy the Dark Lord?

Haunted Castle

Haunted Castle Revisited, a revamped version of the first Castlevania arcade game, makes its debut! And you can also play it in its original format!

Lies of P

Retelling the story of our beloved Pinocchio, Lies of P will place the character in a dark story, in the style of a Souls-Like, which will bring challenges, so know very well what you are getting into! Synopsis:

You are a puppet created by Geppetto, trapped in a web of lies with unimaginable monsters and untrustworthy figures that will stand between you and the events in the world of Lies of P.

A mysterious voice awakens you and guides your steps through the tormented city of Krat - a once lively place that has been poisoned by madness and thirst for blood. In our souls like, you must adapt your weapons and your character to face immeasurable horrors, unravel the unfathomable secrets of the city's elites, and choose between confronting difficulties with truth or weaving lies to overcome them on the journey to find yourself.

Devil May Cry (The entire saga)

Even though it's a bit more animated, the game still focuses on a very pessimistic universe, full of demon attacks, which makes the activity increasingly interesting as we see the protagonists develop more in each game. Synopsis Devil May Cry 5:

Devil May Cry 5 is a direct sequel to the fourth game in the franchise and continues the events of its predecessor. It tells the story of Dante, Nero, and the mysterious V, a character who seeks Dante's help to defeat the dreaded Urizen, the demon king.

Alice Madness Returns

Being another game inspired by fairy tales, this one about Alice in Wonderland, here we will have a pessimistic version of the story, without all the warmth of the characters, but if you are on this list, that will not be a problem. Synopsis:

Eleven years ago, a terrible fire took Alice's entire family and left her mind severely traumatized. She was admitted to Rutledge Asylum, where she fought her demons by delving into her fantasy world of Wonderland. Now, after ten years, she has finally been discharged.

Have a Nice Death

Being a bit more silly, but still very cool and with wonderful visuals, the game will put you in the place of Death, which should become an interesting challenge. Synopsis:

Have a Nice Death is a 2D action roguelike in which you play as Death, overwhelmed with work due to the imbalance of souls caused by your out-of-control employees. And since Death cannot die, use what you have learned and collected to defeat the countless subordinates and bosses in each department of Death Incorporated... for all eternity. A performance review after each game ensures that you will unlock interesting items and upgrades so you can progress on your journey
