FromSoftware may have a surprise release in 2025
The FromSoftware may have a new unannounced game, codenamed "FMC", in advanced stage of development, with potential release by the end of 2025. The information, disclosed by the website MP1st, still lacks official confirmation, but points to the intense activity of the studio, which already has other projects in progress, such as The Duskbloods for the Switch 2 and post-launch support for Elden Ring: Nightreign.
The FromSoftware would be developing a new "surprise" game for 2025, maintaining multiple active projects, but without details about the mysterious title "FMC".
The Codes of FromSoftware and the Mysterious "FMC"
The codename "FMC" for the new project of FromSoftware generated various speculations. According to MP1st, FromSoftware titles that use codes starting with "F" historically associate with franchises like Dark Souls or Armored Core. This led to rumors about the possibility of a remaster of Dark Souls III or an expansion for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. Although less commented, there are also those who believe that "FMC" could be a new Intellectual Property (IP).
FromSoftware continues to operate at high speed, with multiple projects in simultaneous development. In addition to FMC and support for Elden Ring: Nightreign, the studio is working on The Duskbloods, an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch 2 focusing on PvPvE online. This diversification of projects and platforms demonstrates FromSoftware's ability to manage different development fronts.
Despite the foray into online games with The Duskbloods, the president of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki, reaffirmed the studio's commitment to single-player games. Miyazaki stated that the team will continue to produce traditional titles, such as Elden Ring, reassuring fans that the essence of offline games will not be abandoned.
The fan community naturally nurtures hope that "FMC" could be a new Bloodborne or a spiritual sequel. However, without concrete information, everything remains in the realm of speculation.
