From Software discards another Elden Ring DLC
Hidetaka Miyazaki, the renowned creator behind games like Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne, recently dismissed the possibility of releasing more DLCs for the acclaimed Elden Ring. In an interview with the Chinese website Zhihu, Miyazaki stated that From Software has no plans beyond the first expansion of the game, titled Shadow of the Erdtree, set to be released in June.
Miyazaki explained that the company's preference is to release a complete expansion, rather than dividing the additional content into several parts. This aims to preserve the freedom of exploration and sense of adventure that characterize the Elden Ring experience.
Although the decision on DLCs may have been firm, Miyazaki made it clear that the door for a sequel remains slightly open. In previous statements, he mentioned that From Software does not rule out the possibility of Elden Ring 2 or a continuation of the game's universe.
The publisher Bandai Namco, responsible for distributing Elden Ring, recently revealed that the game has reached an impressive milestone of 23 million copies sold in just two years. This demonstrates the huge success and enduring popularity of the title among players worldwide.
Although fans may have to wait a little longer for news about a possible sequel, the uncertainty about the future of Elden Ring certainly keeps game enthusiasts eager for more adventures in this fantastic and challenging universe.
