Former Quantic Dream Writer Launches Studio with Krafton Funds
Former Quantic Dream lead writer Adam Williams has announced the launch of his new studio, Republic Games, with backing from South Korean publisher Krafton. The financial details of this investment remain undisclosed.
Republic Games is described as a “small, yet highly experienced international group of developers” working on an untitled RPG, aiming to create immersive experiences.
In an official statement, Adam Williams said, “We founded Republic Games with the goal of crafting engaging and meaningful experiences. We’re completely focused on delivering what truly matters to players: high-quality gameplay, captivating storytelling, inspiring characters, and fantasy worlds that leave a lasting impression.”
Krafton’s investment director, Mike Hong, explained the decision to back Republic Games by highlighting their commitment to innovative narrative experiences. “Republic Games is determined to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling. They are focusing on incredible stories, player freedom, choices that matter, and the chance for each individual to live their own fantasy,” he emphasized.
Adam Williams exited Quantic Dream earlier this year, known for his work on the narrative-driven titles Detroit: Become Human and the upcoming Star Wars: Eclipse.
