First patch for Silent Hill 2 Remake has arrived to fix some issues. Check it out!
If in your Silent Hill 2 Remake gameplay you encountered any bugs or issues, not just with physics, but with the game's AI, I believe you shouldn't find them anymore, as Bloober Team has already released patch 1.04 for the game, which improves important points in the game, such as getting stuck in windows, or simply teleporting out of nowhere.
Bloober Team has a somewhat complicated reputation, with their latest horror game The Medium being a very interesting game, but with many performance issues, which the company seems to be working to reverse this time, with the game already receiving a significant update.
In the weeks since its release, Konami revealed that the game has sold over a million copies, although the exact number is still a mystery, but it is clear that Bloober Team has produced a remake loved by old-school fans and newcomers.
Silent Hill 2 Remake looked incredible from day one, including the best version of Pyramid Head so far, but the new patch improves performance with NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR 3.1.1, along with better performance on the Steam Deck. Stuttering issues, often found on AMD and Intel graphics cards, should be less noticeable with the new HZB elimination option. The new graphics updates will benefit those using high-end CPUs, but that is only half of the changes in Patch 1.04.
“Patch 1.04 is unlikely to be the final patch for Silent Hill 2 Remake, but Bloober Team is shifting focus to their own original horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn.”
The gameplay fixes mainly revolve around collision detection, from preventing enemies from getting stuck in James' pursuit to preventing pieces of furniture from trapping him in rooms. A small change that will be immediately noticeable is the improvement in James' movement when switching weapons while already aiming. Another change that may make things harder for players is improving the behavior of Abstract Daddy, making it more likely to hit James.
Any change in enemy behavior that makes the game more challenging is worth it, for the fix applied to the most annoying bug: when you looked at the magic eye of Brookhaven Hospital from the wrong side and it teleported James to the next room.
