Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has a great launch on Steam!

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth did not meet the expectations of Square Enix when it was released exclusively for the PlayStation 5, which surely must have bothered those in charge of the company. With that, the strategy changed, and it changed a long time ago, seeing that the company started releasing its games on PC again, already last year with Final Fantasy XVI coming to Steam.

Now, it seems that the change in strategy made a difference, with many players buying it on Steam!

At its launch, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth registered a peak of 40,564 simultaneous players, being the third highest peak for Square Enix in the history of Steam. For comparison, Final Fantasy 7 Remake had a peak of only 13,803 simultaneous players on the Valve platform, while Final Fantasy XVI reached 27,508 simultaneous players and Final Fantasy XV had 29,498 concurrent players.

The numbers indicate that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the game in the Final Fantasy franchise with the best launch in the franchise's history on Steam. In addition to the excellent critical reception, the interval of less than a year between the release for PlayStation 5 and PC also seems to have had a positive impact on sales.

Furthermore, only two games published by Square Enix in history have reached higher peaks on Steam than Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. In first place is Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, with 45,357 simultaneous players, and in second place is Rise of the Tomb Raider, with 44,588 concurrent players on the platform.

Certainly, Square Enix must continue its strategy, and if the numbers continue to rise, we can very possibly expect the return of the Final Fantasy franchise, even on Xbox, since the RPG owner wants to reach more and more players.
