F1 2025 arrives on May 30 with redesigned tracks and LIDAR technology.
EA Sports F1 25, the new title of the racing franchise from Codemasters and Electronic Arts, will be released on May 30, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The first gameplay preview has already been released, highlighting the main technical and visual enhancements that promise to bring players even closer to the real Formula 1 experience.
One of the highlights presented in the official video is the enhanced recreation of five circuits: Bahrain, Miami, Melbourne, Suzuka, and Imola. Each one has been adjusted based on real data to ensure millimeter precision in details such as elevation, curve geometry, and asphalt texture.
The big news this year is the intensive use of LIDAR technology. According to Gavin Cooper, Creative Director of Codemasters:
“LIDAR technology provides players with unprecedented levels of detail, bringing them closer to the racing environment than ever before.”
The video features narration by Alex Jacques and Matt Gallagher, known for their involvement with the F1 community, and serves as a preview of the emphasis EA is placing on audiovisual authenticity and driving realism in this edition.
Based on previous releases like F1 23, it is expected that F1 25 will maintain support for career modes, competitive online multiplayer, and features such as DRS, ERS, and advanced pit stop strategies. The upcoming trailers are expected to detail the return of features like F1 World and adjustments to the physics systems and opponent AI.
This will be the third title in the series under the EA Sports label, following the acquisition of Codemasters by Electronic Arts in 2021.
