Embark fixes item exploit in Arc Raiders after chaos

Embark Studios had to act in record time to contain a technical fire in Arc Raiders. Just three hours after the release of patch 1.15.0 on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the developer released an emergency hotfix to end a new item duplication exploit. The flaw allowed players to generate infinite supplies, such as the Trigger Nade, turning the maps into zones of uninterrupted bombing. The problem escalated after streamer TheBurntPeanut demonstrated the error live to an audience of over 140,000 people, accelerating the spread of the glitch.

The Shared Watch event, which was supposed to be the focus of the update to promote PvE cooperation, was overshadowed by systemic chaos. In an official statement on Discord, Embark stated that they are monitoring the situation to ensure that all variants of the exploit have been eliminated. More than just fixing the code, the company has taken a strict stance on X (formerly Twitter), warning that players who abused the flaw to accumulate excessive amounts of resources will be reviewed and subject to punishments, which may include account suspensions.

"Nothing beats earning your loot the hard way, now go back out there and accumulate your coins honestly!"

From a technical point of view, it is positive to see that Embark Studios now has "ninja reflexes" to apply fixes without requiring client-side downloads, but the recurrence of these errors is a negative point that cannot be ignored. It is the second major duplication exploit in less than a month — the previous one was fixed in patch 1.12.0 in January — which suggests that the base code of Arc Raiders is still vulnerable to simple inventory manipulations. It's funny to note how the community's "hunger" for quick coins can break the game faster than the ARC robots themselves.

The company's punitive stance is bad news for the pranksters, but necessary for the economy of an extraction shooter. However, Embark needs to stop "working out" the muscle of update notes and start training quality control before the patches are released. If every major event like Shared Watch is accompanied by a bug that allows "grenades to rain", the patience of honest players will run out even before the second Expedition on February 25. The studio is playing a dangerous game of "fixing what's already broken" instead of preventing the collapse.
