Elite Dangerous expansions coming to Xbox One this summer
Q2 2016 launch pegged for Horizons and The Engineers
Elite Dangerous: Horizons, the latest season of expansions for the spaceflight-and-combat game, will come to Xbox One some time before the end of June, Frontier Developments announced on Friday.
Horizons will include both the 2.0 Planetary Landings and 2.1 The Engineers expansions. Planetary Landings is currently available for the Windows PC and Mac version of Elite Dangerous, with The Engineers coming sometime alter.
Horizons added planetary landings to Elite: Dangerous, a significant goal and community expectation dating back to the game's 2012 Kickstarter. The Engineers is a large suite of updates that adds crafting and customization options to Elite Dangerous' fleet of ships, multicrew online cooperative play and more.
Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous: Horizons are fully compatible with each other; players of both editions fly together in the same in-game galaxy. Any player who upgrades to Horizons will retain the progress they made in the original Elite Dangerous.
Polygon has an in-depth preview of Horizons from December here. Elite Dangerous launched for Xbox One in October after being one of the first games in that console's new Preview Program of early access.
