The persistence of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in the developer's planning has been one of the main questions among the community this season, given the total absence of previous leaks about the future of the devices launched back in 2013. To the amazement of many, the new report published by the European platform Dealabs indicates that Electronic Arts will continue to bring the football game to almost all active machines in the market: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and the freshly arrived Nintendo Switch 2. Keeping the existing base of older devices active is a commercially understandable choice but inevitably holds back the game's technical growth, which remains confined by hardware limitations going back over a decade.

The schedule for announcements is expected to follow without major surprises, with the hope that the publisher will officially unveil the project as soon as next week, sticking to the pattern used for introducing its predecessor EA Sports FC 26 the previous year. For now, the American giant EA has not issued any official statement confirming the leaked information. Important details about field physics improvements, new modes, and who will grace the cover this year are still being kept under wraps.

Players' wallets shouldn't expect any relief, as the high pricing strategy will continue mercilessly.

According to investigations by the European outlet, computers and the next Nintendo console will receive the digital edition of the game for €69.99, while owners of Xbox and PlayStation platforms will have to pay €79.99. As the source of the leak is based in Europe, the equivalent values for the Brazilian market in reals remain speculative.

If the leaked projections turn out to be accurate, the official debut of EA Sports FC 27 will be on September 25, 2026, sticking to the franchise's traditional habit of taking over stores on the last Friday of September. Those willing to invest in the pricier version, the Ultimate edition, or maintaining a subscription to the EA Play service — part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate package — will be able to enjoy up to eight days of early access, with matches being unlocked on September 17, though this start date might vary by 24 hours either way. It’s the same old tactic to extract more money from fans eager for the virtual kickoff.
