Structuring a football experience around an interactive and navigable space might finally shake up a franchise that had settled into a routine of static menus. The leaked promotional images of the Standard Edition provide details hinting at the creation of a social hub called The Grounds. This open-world environment should allow free exploration of neighborhoods inspired by capitals like Paris and London, enable complex avatar customizations, and host casual activities similar to footvolleyball—taking on the street heritage left behind by the late Volta mode.

The official announcement is scheduled by Electronic Arts for this Thursday, but the leaked material has already revealed much of the new features.

The Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappé, returns as the main star on the game's cover. However, it's the background art that caught the community's attention: an urban landscape adorned with club flags such as Liverpool, Manchester City, and Napoli, accompanied by the slogan "Built from The Grounds up".

The addition of new dynamics gains traction with hints of Alex Hunter's return, the legendary protagonist from the The Journey saga, who may act as a kind of guide or central figure within this social area.
