EA begins permanent bans in Battlefield 6 against Cronus Zen users
Electronic Arts (EA) has started applying permanent bans on players of Battlefield 6 who use Cronus Zen, a controversial accessory that alters the behavior of controls to gain unfair advantages. The most relevant positive point is EA's stance in strengthening the integrity of multiplayer, an action that is actively being celebrated by the community.
Cronus Zen is an adapter that allows the programming of macros to automate actions such as reducing weapon recoil, increasing accuracy, and speeding up movements. Although the device was initially marketed with the justification of accessibility for players with physical limitations, it has become synonymous with cheating in competitive games.
The critical side of the news is the persistence and attempt to conceal the cheaters. Recent reports on forums such as Reddit and social media show players being blocked when trying to start the game with Cronus Zen connected. One of the posts indicated that the developer of Cronus had requested users not to disclose the bans, as it “interferes with testing”.
EA's action demonstrates the success of a more robust anti-cheat strategy. In a previous interview, the technical director of Battlefield 6 had already recognized Cronus Zen as one of the biggest security challenges on consoles. At the time, EA confirmed partnerships with Sony and Microsoft to strengthen detection, as well as using their own security tools and activating "Secure Boot" on PC to prevent external interference.
Despite some doubts about the authenticity of images circulating on the internet, the wave of bans is considered real and is serving as a warning to the community. EA is prioritizing a fair gaming environment for all players.
