Don't Starve will get a spin-off in a board game
The beloved survival game Don't Starve is getting an adaptation for the world of board games. Glass Cannon Unplugged, known for their tabletop versions of Frostpunk and Diablo, is leading the development of Don't Starve: The Board Game in partnership with the original developer, Klei Entertainment.
The launch is scheduled for a Kickstarter campaign "near the end of the 3rd quarter of 2024."
The game is being designed by part of the team behind Frostpunk: The Board Game, with Rafał Pieczyński leading the adaptation of Don't Starve. The narrative design will be supervised by Jakub Wiśniewski and Natanel Vo-Apfel.
Don't Starve: The Board Game promises to fully capture the quirky and unique art style of the series, while players take on the roles of characters from the original game in a struggle for survival against the elements and sinister creatures.
Each session of Don't Starve will last 60 to 90 minutes, allowing for 1 to 4 players. The game will highlight elements such as player choices, dynamic combat, and open-world exploration, while maintaining the unique atmosphere of the video game series. Additionally, the team plans to offer additional content through expansions and future retail releases.
With Don't Starve: The Board Game, fans will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a new survival experience, while continuing to enjoy the quirky and challenging world created by Klei Entertainment.
