Ghost Ship Publishing and Ghost Ship Games have announced the release of Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, a cooperative first-person shooter game with roguelite elements. This spin-off of Deep Rock Galactic is scheduled to arrive on PC via Steam Early Access in November 2024.
Expenite, an incredibly valuable mineral, has been discovered on Hoxxes IV. Deep Rock Galactic initiates secret mining operations, but all locations go dark, losing contact. In Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, you join a team of dwarves to deal with the situation, exploring lost excavation sites, unraveling mysteries, and facing dangers.
Each mission starts with selecting a loadout, including a Phase Suit and an Active Ability. Players land at a lost excavation site and must progress through procedurally generated stages, collecting equipment and facing challenges. Between missions, you return to the ship to research and permanently unlock new weapons and suits.
The game will follow an Open Development model, where players will be engaged from the early stages of development, providing an interactive experience in the game's creation. The team aims to share ideas, drafts, and initial implementations with the community, allowing players to influence the game's development.
The community will be kept updated through the Steam forum and Discord, and there will be opportunities to participate in closed alpha testing in the future. Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core promises to be deeper, darker, and more dangerous than ever, challenging players to explore the unknown depths of Hoxxes IV.
