Death Stranding 2 is wrapping up its recordings!

After some time, Kojima finally gave us an update on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and it seems like voice recordings with actors have finished with Kojima handing out a bouquet of flowers!

"That's a wrap for Shioli Kutsuna," Kojima tweets alongside a video of him giving the actress a bouquet of flowers. "Thank you so much for your hard work! Despite the challenges of the pandemic, she handled 3D scanning, performance capture in LA, and voice recording in ADR in English and Japanese at various locations. Great job, and much appreciated!"

Kutsana plays Rainy in Death Stranding 2, and she also played Yukio in Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine. We don't know much about her new character Rainy, but Kojima has been teasing her for some time. He previously used Katsuna for a lighting test to show his team "the basic principles of live-action lighting to familiarize them with this technique."

He says he used Kutsana instead of other actors from Death Stranding 2, Norman Reedus or Elle Fanning, because "it's difficult to properly express the skin tone, dark hair, and eyes of Asian people. Shioli's look in 'DS2' is a challenge for us."

The care that Kojima demonstrates and develops new ways of working is very interesting and surely the game will come out even more beautiful and with attention to many details. However, even though seeing the actors' recordings finish, Kojima himself admits there is still much work to be done, so don't get too anxious for the game just yet!
