Crossover between Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 on the way

Capcom seems ready for another one of its traditional internal crossovers: a collaborative content between Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6 was suggested by a recent post on social media, reigniting the company's pattern of connecting its franchises in in-game events.

The teaser, which shows an icon of Patapalico (Palico) with the characteristic graffiti look of Street Fighter 6, was enough to raise suspicions — and expectations — among players. Although no technical details have been confirmed, the collaboration will be part of the next update of Monster Hunter Wilds, promised for the end of May 2025.

The practice is not new. In Monster Hunter: World, for example, there was a long list of collaborations with properties from Capcom, including:

  • Devil May Cry
  • Mega Man
  • Street Fighter V
  • Resident Evil

These events usually brought themed equipment, character skins, weapons, and exclusive time-limited missions. Therefore, the expectation is for something similar — possibly paid cosmetics, temporary events with unique rewards, or even visual items inspired by characters like Ryu, Chun-Li, or Luke.

However, the general tone among the community is cautious. As fans themselves point out, this type of content tends to be secondary, with limited impact on the main game experience. The original teaser text doesn't help:

"We don't want to burst your bubble, but it probably won't be anything big."

In addition to the collaboration with Street Fighter 6, the May update for Monster Hunter Wilds will include “additional features,” although no technical information has been disclosed so far. The game, officially announced in December 2023 during The Game Awards, still has no confirmed release date but is considered Capcom's major action title for 2025, with versions planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Street Fighter 6, released on June 2, 2023, is expanding with DLC characters and regular community events. The game has already surpassed 3 million copies sold and has been used as a platform to engage the audience in new brand activations.

The collaboration does not have an exact debut date yet, but considering Capcom's history, it is safe to expect at least some flashy and collectible visual content, reinforcing the idea of a unified ecosystem between its franchises.
