Criticism of MindsEye: Publisher Counters Accusation of "Paid Comments"
The Build a Rocket Boy, developer of MindsEye, faced criticism over the negative reception of the game, with the company's co-CEO suggesting at the end of last month that the adverse reactions were part of an "orchestrated effort" against the studio, funded externally. These claims sparked reactions in the industry.
In response to these claims, Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive, which is in charge of publishing MindsEye, expressed his skepticism. In an interview with IGN, when asked about the claim of paid negative reactions, Abrak stated: "I don't believe that. I don't believe that. I just think the game should speak for itself on June 10."
While Abrak did not delve deeper into the issue of paid comments, he confirmed that the MindsEye team is working on patches for the game, a common practice in the industry.
The release of MindsEye, which took place on the night of June 10, was not without issues. Several posts on social media highlighted technical issues, including performance stutters and a series of glitches, such as character facial distortions and unnatural stretching of 3D models.
The Build a Rocket Boy has already addressed performance issues, stating that an update to optimize performance is in progress. The company stated that its "engineering team is working 24 hours a day" to implement the necessary improvements.
