The Cloud Imperium has released an update to the system requirements for the Alpha version of the highly anticipated Star Citizen, giving players a clearer view of what will be needed to run the game on their PCs. Here are the latest details:
- Star Citizen now requires a PC capable of running AVX instructions. CPUs that do not meet this requirement will not be able to launch the game.
- The GPU must have at least 4GB of VRAM and a driver with support for Vulkan 1.2.
- To meet the minimum requirements, players will need a Quad Core CPU with 16 GB of RAM. Listed CPUs include Intel i7 and AMD Bulldozer. Additionally, a GPU such as NVIDIA GTX1060, AMD RX 5700, RX Vega 56, RX 460, or Intel A380 will be required.
- It is recommended to have an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 5 Quad/Eight CPU with 32 GB of RAM. Surprisingly, the team did not specify a recommended GPU, only mentioning a "DirectX 12 compatible graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM."
- The game now requires 100 GB of free disk space and the use of an SSD is recommended to enhance the gaming experience.
