Chrono Odyssey Reaches 65 Thousand Players in Beta, but Disappoints
The first closed beta of the highly anticipated MMORPG Chrono Odyssey, from Chrono Studio, attracted more than 65 thousand simultaneous players on Steam at its peak during the last weekend. However, despite the high initial interest, the playtest experience left many participants disappointed due to technical and visual issues.
The drop in the number of players after the initial peak indicates that expectations were not fully met. The developers had warned that the beta would have issues, but this did not prevent frustration among part of the player base.
Technical Issues and Visual Quality Criticism
The main criticisms from testers point to the need for improvement in various technical and visual aspects. The animations were considered below the expected standard, and the lighting did not reach the level of quality suggested by the game previews. Additionally, character movement and combat fluidity did not generate the expected engagement.
"The animations are not great and the lighting is well below the quality level that the previews indicated the game would have. Also, the movement is not the best and the combat wasn't as exciting as expected," reported one of the testers.
Apparently, Chrono Odyssey is still far from the ideal state for a full release. Chrono Studio will have to dedicate significant attention to the feedback collected during this closed beta to improve the game and ensure that the final version meets the expectations set. The ability to address these issues will be crucial for the success of the title in a competitive MMORPG market.
Do you believe that Chrono Studio will be able to address the shortcomings pointed out in the closed beta of Chrono Odyssey in time to deliver a final product that meets the high expectations of players?
