Capcom declares war against cheaters in Monster Hunter Wilds

Company promises to act to protect the gaming experience

The Capcom is not playing around with Monster Hunter Wilds. Shortly before the highly anticipated arrival of the new title in the franchise, the Japanese company issued an official warning: unauthorized modifications will not be tolerated, and strict measures are on the way to protect the gaming experience.

According to a statement released this week, Capcom confirmed that it has already detected illegal modifications in the game data, especially in activities like High Rank investigations. These alterations include manipulations such as reducing the number of monsters, expanding item space, and even excessive rewards — changes that can, according to the company, "interfere with normal gameplay and even make the game unplayable".

The company issued a clear warning to the community:

"If you suspect a mission has been modified, exit the game immediately."

Additionally, Capcom emphasized that it is working to implement new detection technologies that will quickly identify if a mission has been altered through cheats. However, it acknowledged that, at the moment, it is still not possible to determine with total precision all occurrences.

"Modified data can harm the enjoyment of other players and compromise the integrity of the Monster Hunter Wilds experience," declared the company.

It is worth noting that protecting the integrity of games has always been a priority for Capcom. In previous titles in the series, such as Monster Hunter: World, the company has faced similar situations with modifications and implemented blocks that limited players to local servers to contain the problem. This time, however, the stance seems even firmer.

Monster Hunter Wilds is one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. The game, officially announced during The Game Awards 2024, promises to take the series to new heights of exploration in an open world, while maintaining the classic essence of intense hunts against colossal monsters.

The release date is scheduled for late 2025, with confirmed versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. By then, it is expected that more details about anti-cheat systems will be disclosed.

Whether you are a veteran hunter or a newcomer ready to enter this epic universe, the message is clear: in Monster Hunter Wilds, play fair. Hunting is for everyone, but fun must be preserved — and Capcom promises to act to ensure that.
