Let’s get started:
Pre-Load and Play Right at Launch
All Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players with digital Vanguard pre-orders can begin pre-loading the game. Download ahead of time and play the moment Vanguard goes live on November 5.
Campaign: The Birth of Special Forces
End Project Phoenix and live through the heroic moments of Task Force One, a multinational group of heroes including Arthur Kingsley, Polina Petrova, Wade Jackson, Lucas Riggs, Richard Webb, and many others united in the fight against evil. Choose from Recruit, Regular, Hardened, or Veteran difficulty settings, with in-game rewards granted for your achievements.
Zombies: Franchise-First Crossover
The Dark Aether saga continues as Treyarch Studios takes the lead on Zombies in Der Anfang. Battle the Dark Aether entity Kortifex the Deathless and the sinister Wolfram Von List as they raise the fallen masses of Stalingrad.
New locales like the undead enclave of Merville, as well as the classic swamps of Shi No Numa, are just an Aether portal away. Complete objectives, upgrade your skills via Covenants, and survive the horde before exfiltrating Stalingrad alive…if you can survive the final attack.
Multiplayer: 20 Maps at Launch and More
Vanguard offers one of the biggest Multiplayer content drops in franchise history. Experience seven core (and hardcore) game modes with Free for All, Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and the all-new Patrol.
Play core modes across 16 maps at launch, plus four 2v2 Gunfight maps. Examples include:
Bocage: A tank battle in Northern France following the Allied invasion devolves into infantry combat across a farmer’s estate. This medium-sized map winds in and around the farmhouse, stables, and home with several tanks spilling over from the prior conflict.
Numa Numa: Based on the Battle of Pica Forks, a pincer attack from Axis forces causes the Allies to brace for a battle on a beachhead. This small-sized map has a large machine-gun nest as the central point for contention.
Demyansk: At this small church and village on the Lovat River, Allied Forces spread out to ambush the Axis before they can successfully retreat with supplies and equipment. This small-sized map has a river dividing combat between the western Church and eastern Lumberyard.
Dome: After heavy damage to the Reichstag Building in Berlin, Allied forces storm the bombed-out structure while Axis stand their ground. This small-sized asymmetrical arena is a reimagining of Treyarch’s iconic Call of Duty: World at War map.
Play your way with the new Combat Pacing filter, setting the maximum number of players in a match. Set it to Tactical for traditional Call of Duty timing with a 12-player max, Assault for 7v7 and 18v18 play, and Blitz for a frenetic 8v8 and 24v24 high-octane experience. Choose All for a varied play session.
Experience the new multi-arena survival tournament, Champion Hill. Invite your Duo partner, form your Trio, or go Solo as you build a loadout in this fast-paced, limited-life mode. Earn cash by picking up drops, eliminating enemies, and winning rounds, and then spend it on upgrading weaponry or getting new armaments, equipment, Perks, and tide-turning Killstreaks.
Shipment Highlights Vanguard Pre-season Content
Vanguard’s content drop continues after launch with a few free special deliveries in the days leading up to Season One.
Headlining that batch of free content is Shipment, the classic frenetic Multiplayer experience re-fitted for Vanguard, scheduled for a November 17 arrival. Newcomers and veterans alike can ready up for a fresh take on the map that’s entertained Call of Duty fans for over a decade.
Caldera Launches with Warzone Pacific
Lush forests and rocky crags. White sand beaches and mysterious ruins. A dormant volcano towering over 200-plus points of interest. Caldera is just the beginning of Vanguard’s full integration into Warzone. Roughly the size of Verdansk, Caldera’s design is informed by two years of research and community feedback.
Available to all players in Season One, the Vanguard Royale mode — and later, the Vanguard Plunder mode — showcase all new content from the Season One update onwards, including weaponry and vehicles like biplanes and AA trucks.
All your Operators, Calling Cards, and more from Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare will remain in Warzone Pacific.
Caldera launches with 24-hour exclusive first play access for Vanguard owners on December 2 at 9:00 a.m. PT. Then, it launches for all players on December 3 at 9:00 a.m. PT.
