Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 keeps the basics and innovates in movement!
Today I started playing the Beta of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, which was released for all Gamepass subscribers and for everyone who pre-ordered the game. With over 4 hours of gameplay, I have a strong feeling of difference and change for the franchise.
The game has preserved the style of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but using the new Engine to its fullest potential, which arrived in 2019. The game also heavily relies on mechanics that were added since Modern Warfare Reboot and it's wonderfully satisfying.
One thing you may notice is that they brought back the wildcard system, which makes a big difference, since in the previous COD, we had to use the system of vests and military equipment, something that indeed gets closer (a bit) to reality, however, not all games need to go for the realistic side and Black Ops 6 gains a lot of credit for ignoring reality.
The beta has only 20 levels, 3 maps, 13 weapons, 14 perks, 4 field upgrades, and 2 usable wildcards!
One of the new things in the weapon loadout menu is that now you will always have a knife with you, which can also be swapped.
The wildcards are:
Massacre - Equip any non-melee weapon in primary and secondary weapon slots.
Perk Greed - Equip an extra perk.
In my gameplay so far, I only used the massacre wildcard, using an XM4 rifle, a GS45 pistol. For equipment, I used a flash and a sticky grenade. The loadout proves to be good for those starting in the game, not to mention they are quick to use and you can make the most of the game.
The perks I used were:
Blast Jacket, which reduces explosive and fire damage.
Agile, which reduced penalties to movement, both when reloading and when using equipment.
Vigilance, which not only made me immune to UAVs, but also to Spy Planes, and also gave me the advantage of knowing when I was appearing on the enemy's map.
Regarding weapon attachments, I loved what I saw, as the attachments made a big difference, depending on the sight or barrel, the XM4 had a big difference in how stable the aim could be. Something else that caught my attention was the usability of the Laser, which helped me in close-range combat, as I didn't need to aim.
The map I preferred playing was Skyline. A fancy rooftop with a pool, following the base of the series' maps, having 3 paths, taking advantage of upper and lower floors to create a greater flow, also having quick ways to access different areas.
As for the new movement, we haven't seen much use of it by players yet, maybe because not everyone knows how to use it on these 3 available maps, but still, I am crazy enough to say that it won't impact 100% on your gameplay, as it is something that needs a little practice to use.
Some of the new features that have not been included in the beta yet, is the use of other players as human shields. The mechanic was only presented in the campaign mode of Call Of Duty: Cold War, and now it has returned to multiplayer mode, but only those who were in COD:NEXT can see it working. Besides using the enemy as a human shield, you will also be able to irritate the enemy by speaking through a voice chat that is activated when you grab the enemy!
The game still has some optimization issues, I can't let that pass because we are entering the 9th month (September) and the game launches in the 10th month (October), and I witnessed several times problems at the start of the match, where I played one match smoothly, and when entering the second one, the map wouldn't load, but I knew I was in control and heard when I shot. I know it's still a test version, but it's always good to warn so that the game comes out in the best way possible!
The beta itself is very fun and it is indeed the fastest Call Of Duty in history, showing that giving 4 years to Treyarch was a great idea and we hope that the Modern Warfare saga, in its fourth appearance, also receives all the care that Black Ops 6 is receiving from its developers!
Now, I will play until the last day of the Beta, and when everything is over, I will come back to tell more about my opinions on the game!
Remember that Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to be released on October 25, for: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!
