Bug removes Shelly's dance in LoL after patch 25.11
Shelly, a Herald of the Vale from League of Legends, stopped dancing upon reaching the Nexus — and Riot Games has already confirmed that they are investigating the issue. The glitch arose after the arrival of patch 25.11, released on May 29, 2025, and since then players have been reporting the absence of one of the game's most beloved interactions.
Shelly's dance, triggered when the Herald reaches the opposing Nexus, has become a tradition among veteran players, marking dominant victories and being one of the few comedic moments in the MOBA. Since its introduction, this celebration has become part of the game's charm, alongside other memorable interactions such as taunts between rival champions or lines that break the fourth wall, like the old "Adagio, summoner!" from Sona.
However, after the most recent update, players noticed that Shelly simply watches the Nexus be destroyed, motionless and unresponsive. The first report of the bug appeared on Reddit on May 30, with a player lamenting:
"Herald doesn't dance anymore."
The response came quickly from rioter GalaxySmash, who assured:
"Working on it!", accompanied by two handshake emojis, in response to another user's gratitude.
Although it may seem insignificant from a technical standpoint, the disappearance of the animation has reignited a common feeling among the community: the loss of playful and symbolic elements that reinforce the identity of League of Legends. For many, interactions like this are remnants of an era when the game seemed closer to its players and less focused on competitive updates.
There is still no official confirmation that the fix will come in patch 25.12, scheduled for June 11, but there are speculations that Riot may release a hotfix before that, given the community's reaction and affection for the dancing Shelly.
The discussion also reflects a veiled criticism of the current phase of the game. Among complaints about champion balancing and the pressure of the ranked scene, many veteran players see these small interactions as reminders of a more relaxed and creative LoL — something that has been lost over time.
Shelly's dance may seem like a detail, but its absence highlights how much care for the small elements also shapes the gaming experience. In the meantime, the recommendation stands: if you're returning to the Rift, check the updated tier list to choose the best available champions or take advantage of the skins on sale in the official client.
