A group of 26 developers from the former Boss Fight Entertainment announced the foundation of Sunwise Games. The new company emerges as an independent studio focused on PC titles, prioritizing games based on clear progression systems and respectful monetization. Currently, the team consists of 30 experienced professionals, structured to ensure long-term sustainability.

The formation of this new studio is a significant positive point for talent preservation in the sector. After working together for years, the founders decided to maintain the technical cohesion of the team. "We trusted each other, understood how to collaborate on a large scale, and knew that this type of team cohesion is rare," said CEO and co-founder Irin Berry in an official statement in January 2026.

Sunwise Games intends to announce its first project soon, using the experience of a group that has led titles that have reached the top of global charts. The proposal of a intentionally small studio led by veterans is a technical response to market fluctuations, seeking to avoid the errors of accelerated expansion common in large corporations.

However, the circumstances that led to the creation of the studio are subject to severe criticism. It is regrettable that Netflix shut down Boss Fight Entertainment in October 2025, even after the technical success of Squid Game: Unleashed. The title reached tens of millions of players, proving the competence of the team that the streaming giant decided to discard without clear operational justifications.

The instability generated by Netflix in the development ecosystem is evident. The company acquired Boss Fight in 2022 only to dissolve a structure that showed high productivity and global returns just three years later. Although the foundation of Sunwise represents the resilience of the developers, the closure of the original studio reflects volatile corporate management that prioritizes cuts over technical continuity.
