Blizzard responds to criticism and details changes in Diablo 4 focusing on balance and feedback.

The eighth season of Diablo 4 is now available, bringing important adjustments to the game and reigniting discussions about the future of the franchise. Among the main novelties are the return of Belial, changes in the Battle Pass, new boss powers, as well as promises of restructuring in the progression system. However, the content roadmap for 2025, recently released by Blizzard, generated negative reactions among more engaged players, who expected more concrete directions.

In an interview, designers Colin Finer and Deric Nunez stated that the roadmap is just "a starting point".
"The conversation is just beginning," said Finer.
The team ensured that they will continue adjusting the content of each season based on community feedback.

Among the most debated changes is the new format of the Battle Pass, which now adopts a model similar to Call of Duty, with more freedom to choose rewards. However, the reduction in the amount of virtual currency available caused dissatisfaction.
"It's a net gain for everyone," said Finer, emphasizing that even those who do not purchase the premium pass will be able to obtain some of the currency - something that did not happen before.

Another point of friction involves the diversity of viable builds in the current metagame. The team acknowledges the limitation and is already working on structural changes in the skill tree and legendary aspects, but warns that this type of adjustment takes time.
"It's a big problem to unravel," explained Finer.

Blizzard also emphasized that they intend to act more swiftly during the first weeks of each season, making balancing adjustments without negatively affecting the players' efforts.
"We have to respect the efforts of those who play seriously," they concluded.

In previous updates, Blizzard had already been criticized for balancing decisions that discouraged veteran players, especially during the launch of season 1, making open dialogue a key point for the game's evolution from now on.
