Blizzard releases remasters of Warcraft I and II
Blizzard seemed to be in a hurry to correct past mistakes and did something that almost no one expected: released Warcraft I and Warcraft II in a remastered version, in addition to a visual update of Warcraft III: Reforged. Yes, you read that right. And if you think the announcement was well orchestrated... you're wrong! The leak was already in the air, but the company decided to keep the surprise for yesterday.
Now, the classic RTS games are fresh, with updated graphics, but without losing their essence. Warcraft and Warcraft II receive renewed visuals, all hand-drawn, following the line of the original arts. And do not be fooled, Blizzard also made sure to improve gameplay, including support for widescreen displays and more modern controls. We already know what you're thinking: "but what about the gameplay?" Well, Blizzard kept the pace, with improvements that make the experience smoother and, of course, more accessible.
However, Blizzard's true masterstroke comes with Warcraft III: Reforged. That version that caused so much noise in the past, now receives a complete visual treatment, allowing the player to switch between new graphics and original ones at any time, with new scenarios and characters with original models. And for those who are afraid to mess with the settings: don't worry, everything is customizable!
The best part? The games are already available. So, if you want to revisit these classics or, who knows, give a chance to the 2020 Warcraft III (with its revamped look), just download and enjoy.
Here are the technical details of the updates:
- Warcraft I and Warcraft II now with hand-drawn graphics and gameplay optimized for widescreen.
- Warcraft III Reforged gains the option to switch between new and original graphics at any time.
Now, will this update be enough to erase the bitter taste left by the release of Warcraft III: Reforged? Let's wait and see.
