Bethesda confirms The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake and may release today
After months of leaks, Bethesda has finally confirmed that the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake will be officially revealed today, April 22, at 11am (Brasília time). The announcement will be streamed on the company's official channels on Twitch and YouTube.
The signs were already strong: references to the project appeared on Bethesda's website and images leaked from the studio Virtuos, responsible for the remake, which is being developed in Unreal Engine 5. According to previous documents and reports, the plan is for an immediate release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with inclusion in Game Pass.
Expected improvements include revamped systems for stamina, stealth, blocking, archery, and impact reactions, as well as a new HUD. The goal, according to designer Nicolas Roginski, is to "recreate the feeling of memory" for players, not just to repeat the past.
"Our challenge is to surpass fans' idealized memories. We seek to maintain, enhance, and create new experiences," said Roginski in an interview with 80.lv in March 2024.
Intense activity behind the scenes, such as updates on SteamDB and the North American rating system, only reinforced that the release is imminent. After the success of Skyrim and years of fan requests, the wait for the new chapter of The Elder Scrolls is about to end.
