Battlefield 6 will use bots to fill matches without players.
Battlefield 6, with a scheduled release on October 10th on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, will have a system that fills matches with bots when there are not enough players. The information, reported by Insider-Gaming, was revealed by Electronic Arts (EA) at a recent event.
EA aims to ensure that players quickly get into the action, avoiding waits on menu screens. The inclusion of bots to fill the last spots in a room, therefore, appears to be the solution to start matches more efficiently. It has not been confirmed whether human players can replace the bots during the course of the match.
The game's beta starts on August 7th, giving players the first opportunity to test the game and evaluate the updates. Battlefield Studios, responsible for development, seeks to show a strong approach to the community and align with the desires of fans, following the tumultuous release of Battlefield 2042. The use of bots may be a strategy for EA to keep the Battlefield experience smooth, even during quieter times.
Battlefield Studios, which brings together teams from DICE, Criterion, Ripple Effect, and Motive, has the mission to regain players' trust and establish Battlefield 6 as one of the main shooting games in the market. The use of bots in matches, however, may raise questions about the quality of the experience, depending on their implementation and impact on gameplay.
