The EA confirmed that Battlefield 6 will have a Battle Royale mode. The global community manager of Battlefield, Kevin Johnson, used social media to announce that the mode will soon be available in Battlefield Labs for testing. A chaotic teaser was released, showing explosive gameplay, reaffirming rumors that had been circulating for months.

This is not the franchise's first foray into the genre. In 2019, Battlefield V launched the Firestorm mode, which was not successful and was eventually overtaken by Call of Duty's Warzone mode. The EA hopes that with this new attempt, Battlefield 6 will have a more promising outcome.

According to previous leaks, the Battle Royale mode of Battlefield 6 will have a map set in California, with insertion via CH-47 Chinook. The game's destructive ring will be composed of a compound called "NXC". There are still no details on how and when exactly the mode will be released, considering the main game's release date on October 10.

The trailer for Battlefield 6, already released by EA, shows that the new title will have a modern setting and a single-player campaign. The game, which will be a total war experience, is developed by Battlefield Studios, composed of EA DICE, Criterion, EA Motive, and Ripple Effect.

The developers of Battlefield 6 are focused on not following the "goofy" customization path adopted by Call of Duty. The EA tries, with this new approach, to reconquer the franchise's fan base and establish themselves in the competitive Battle Royales market.
