BAFTA Game Awards will take place on March 30

God of War Ragnarok leads the nominations

Recently, the British Academy Games Awards, also known as BAFTA, announced that the awards ceremony will take place on March 30 starting at 6:50 p.m. EST and can be watched exclusively on the festival's Twitch channel.

Forty-five games in total have been nominated, ranging from games from indie studios to big names in the AAA industry. God of War Ragnarok tops the list of nominations with fourteen, followed by Stray with eight and Elden Ring with seven. A Plague Tale: Requiem, Horizon Forbidden West, Immortality, Tunic, and Vampire Survivors each received five nominations. The surprise was that Citizen Sleeper was nominated in four categories.

The show is hosted by eSports host Julia Hardy alongside four of Twitch's top streamers: Tubbo, CaptainPuffy, Leahviatan and Sharese.

Among the various categories, Game Beyond Entertainment is particularly noteworthy for its focus on games with social themes, tackling a range of issues from climate change and deforestation to dementia and fake news. The nominees are:

•     Citizen Sleeper
•     Endling - Extinction is Forever
•     Gibbon: Beyond the Trees
•     I Was A Teenage Exocolonist
•     Not for broadcast
•     We will always have Paris

It is worth remembering that the winners are chosen by a jury of experts, made up of a number of websites. In addition, the only prize where the public can vote is that for the best game. And the nominees are:

•     Elden Ring
•     God of War Ragnarok
•     Horizon Forbidden West
•     Immortality
•     Marvel Snap
•     Stray
