ASUS, a pioneer in manufacturing gaming PCs, has announced its new laptop ROG Ally X. Although not a direct sequel to the original model, the Ally X represents a mid-cycle upgrade with improvements in several areas.
Enhanced Specifications:
- Battery and Storage: The battery of the Ally X has been doubled to an impressive 80Wh (previously 40Wh), providing longer battery life. The M.2 SSD now has 1 TB of capacity (previously 512 GB).
- Memory and Performance: The LPDDR5X RAM has been increased to up to 24 GB (previously 16 GB). The Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip and the 7-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate remain the same.
- Improved Cooling: ASUS has redesigned the ventilation system, resulting in a 24% better airflow.
- Ergonomic Design: The Ally X features a thicker black exterior, providing more comfortable grips and an improved button layout. A new precision D-Pad has also been added.
- Connectivity: ASUS has replaced its proprietary XG mobile connector with a second USB-C port, compatible with USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4.
These improvements make the Ally X a more versatile and comfortable device, ideal for gaming and use as a "pseudo desktop." ASUS seems to have listened to the users' wishes, creating a laptop that meets the needs of demanding gamers.
