New video shows infiltration mechanics and fortresses in feudal Japan

The Ubisoft has just released 20 minutes of unreleased gameplay of Assassin's Creed Shadows, bringing a more detailed look at the gameplay and mechanics of the highly anticipated title. In the video, we follow Naoe and Yasuke as they infiltrate the Nijo Palace, an imposing fortress located in Kyoto, also known as Tenshu.

Castles as living fortresses full of challenges

Unlike other entries in the franchise, Assassin's Creed Shadows focuses on highly protected castles that serve as high-reward zones. These areas are full of hostile guards and valuable resources, challenging players to use stealth or direct combat to progress.

Each castle houses a special chest, which can only be accessed after defeating the Samurais Daisho, elite enemies who guard powerful equipment. In addition to providing valuable loot, these missions help increase the Knowledge Level, unlocking skills and improvements for the characters.
