The long-awaited fan-made anime of Elden Ring has had its premiere postponed to the summer of 2025, but don't worry, fans of the masterpiece by FromSoftware, the production is going well. The adaptation, revealed in July of this year, had a release forecast for the fall, but now the creator Steins Alter announced that he needs more time to polish the animation. In the teaser released, it is possible to see a little bit of the progress, and honestly, it already looks promising.

In a video, Steins Alter commented that postponing the project was a difficult decision:

"It was a difficult decision for me to digest. However, we, animators, are all very busy, and rushing this is not something that interests me. I want to spend these extra months polishing the animations and style, making the most of the talent of these animators."

So, as frustrating as the delay may be, at least we have guarantees that the final result will be something to admire. And yes, this means we will have more time to see Malenia in action, the character that already appears in the teaser as one of the major attractions.

For those concerned about the time it took for the anime to come out, it's worth remembering that the game is not exactly recent — it was released in February 2022. But the timing is still reasonable, considering that the game's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was released this year and even received a nomination for Best Game at The Game Awards 2024.

Oh, and to top it all off: Reuters reported that Sony is in talks to buy Kadokawa, the parent company of FromSoftware, which could mean that the Japanese giant will become the owner of franchises like Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Demon's Souls. Let's see how this will affect the future of these series and the anime itself.
