Anbernic suspends direct deliveries in the USA and advises purchases through Amazon
The manufacturer of retro handheld consoles Anbernic has temporarily suspended direct shipments from China to the United States. The company, based in China and created by Shenzhen YangLiMing Electronic Technology Co. in 2017, stated that the decision was made due to tariffs imposed by the Donald Trump administration.
In a statement on their official website, Anbernic explained: "Due to changes in US tariff policies, we will suspend all orders shipped from China to the United States." The company recommended that consumers prioritize purchases made directly from their stock in the US warehouse: "Currently, products shipped from our US warehouse are not subject to import tariffs and can be purchased with confidence."
As highlighted by The Verge, Anbernic usually releases new models directly from China and later stocks additional units in their US warehouse. Despite the suspension of direct shipments, the consoles can still be purchased through third-party sites like Amazon.
The company is known for the Retro Games line, considered the first open-source handheld console from China, and has already released over 30 models. Their devices are capable of emulating classic systems like NES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, SNES, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS.
Anbernic stated that they will keep customers informed of any updates in shipping policies and will publish future revisions directly on their website.
