According to reports from a new video, Activision would have rejected a proposal for a possible remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, opting to direct Vicarious Visions to work as a support studio for the Call of Duty franchise.

Initially, after the huge success of the first remake, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, a proposal to include the games 3 + 4 was under discussion. However, due to time constraints, the team decided to focus their efforts only on the first two games.

A source from Vicarious Visions revealed to Robertson that the idea of a remake collection containing games 3 + 4 was under consideration, but ended up being discarded. Activision would have preferred Vicarious Visions to help in the development of the Call of Duty series, leveraging their talent and experience.

This decision was made even after Vicarious Visions significantly contributed to the success of the Diablo 2 remake. Tony Hawk, in previous statements, mentioned that the second remake collection was planned until Vicarious Visions was fully absorbed by Activision.

Hawk explained: "The truth is that [Activision] was trying to find someone to do 3 and 4, but they just didn't trust anyone the way they trusted Vicarious."

The merger between Vicarious Visions and Blizzard was announced by Activision Blizzard in January 2021, and became official in April 2022, marking a significant change in the studio's direction.
