The studio Afrime Studios confirmed the participation of Unyverse in the Mundo Gamer Showcase 2026-2, an international event by Mundo Gamer Network that will be broadcasted on June 20, 2026.

In a market where action RPGs often adhere to familiar formulas, Unyverse offers a distinctive path: a third-person action RPG featuring an Afrofuturistic universe, combat inspired by fighting games, semi-open exploration, and a strong cultural identity grounded in African, sci-fi, and fantasy references.

Crafted using the Unreal Engine 5, this game delivers a single-player adventure with an estimated runtime of 25 to 30 hours. Players are taken to the continent of Lesser Intabas, a vibrant world filled with cities, villages, research labs, bustling markets, natural regions, and areas marked by faction conflicts.

As a D’Zola warrior, players will explore this universe, face opponents, make narrative decisions, engage with factions, and carve their own path in a campaign that blends action, character progression, and choices with a direct impact on the journey.

One of Unyverse's key differentiators is its combat system. Instead of sticking strictly to traditional action RPG structures, the game incorporates fighting game mechanics, including combos, timing reads, stance changes, counters, and precision techniques. The aim is to create more technical encounters where skill, rhythm mastery, and strategy are as important as attribute and gear advancement.

The progression also provides depth. The game features eight distinct combat styles, each offering different advantages, limitations, and possibilities for speed, strength, defense, and battle control. Additionally, equipment, skills, and evolution trees allow players to develop their warrior according to their personal style.

Exploration in Unyverse is designed to emphasize movement and verticality. The semi-open world includes 3 major cities, 9 villages, conflict regions, wild areas, and climbable structures, with parkour systems, vertical traversal, and environmental discovery. Main missions, side activities, and optional encounters enhance the narrative and create a responsive world that reacts to player choices.

Another important pillar is character creation. Afrime Studios has developed the system with a focus on authentic representation of Black players and Afro-descendants, offering detailed options for facial features, hair textures, cultural styles, and visual elements that rarely receive this level of focus in traditional RPGs.

Visually, Unyverse blends Afrofuturistic aesthetics, architecture inspired by African cultures, advanced technology, densely populated markets, traditional attire reimagined in a sci-fi context, original music, and an artistic direction aimed at building a world that is both culturally authentic and cinematic.

More than just a futuristic adventure, Unyverse seeks to create a new original property within the international indie scene, connecting action, narrative, identity, and world-building in a game experience for players seeking RPGs with distinct personality.

The game is scheduled for release in 2027 for PC.
