Company will hold its own event

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is back in person in 2023, but some big companies are announcing that they will not participate in the event, now it was Ubisoft's turn to confirm that it will not participate in E3 2023.

Previously, in February, the company had confirmed its presence at the event, according to the GamesIndustry.biz website, however, it seems that plans have changed.

According to the company's statement, an event of its own will be held on June 12 in Los Angeles, the Ubisoft Forward Live.

E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry over the years. While we initially intended to have an official presence at E3, we have subsequently made the decision to go in a different direction and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12th in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players soon.

With the promise of big announcements for E3 2023, the company must now bring these news to its own event. More information is expected from games like Assassin's Creed Mirage and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and who knows something we haven't even heard of yet.

Other companies such as Nintendo will also not be present at the event, while Microsoft will not be present at the event, however, it will participate digitally, with transmission scheduled for June 11th. Meanwhile, Sony has not officially commented, but its presence is unlikely.

E3 cancelled? Journalist suggests the possibility

In the face of increasing withdrawals from participation at E3 2023, Andy Robinson (VGC journalist), said that there is a possibility that the expected event will be canceled, taking into account that he is “really not hearing good things”.

He says he "wouldn't be surprised if the event was canceled this week" and that he also hopes that won't be the case.

E3 2023 takes place in person between the 13th and 16th of June, and from the 11th of the same month, the "E3 Digital Week" will already be taking place.

And you, what do you think of this situation? Are in-person and large events like E3 important? Or is it ideal to follow the wave of own events and, most of the time, online? Comment.
